Abstract

Latar Belakang : Permasalahan sampah semakin mendesak seiring meningkatnya jumlah penduduk dan permukiman, sementara lahan pembuangan akhir semakin terbatas. Tidak adanya pemilahan sampah menyebabkan penumpukan yang berdampak pada pencemaran lingkungan, munculnya berbagai penyakit, serta risiko banjir akibat sampah yang menyumbat saluran drainase. Tujuan : Peneltian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan edukasi pemilahan sampah dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap, dan tindakan siswa sekolah dasar kota palembang tahun 2025. Metode Penelitian : Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-eksperimental dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Sebanyak 104 siswa kelas 5 Sekolah Dasar Negeri 119 Palembang dengan teknik sampel penelitian total sampling. Intervensi berupa edukasi pemilahan sampah melalui media audio visual dan ceramah, diikuti pengukuran pretest dan posttest. Hasil : Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada pengetahuan siswa dari 67.40 menjadi 91.15, sikap dari 23.28 menjadi 32.56, dan tindakan dari 12.72 menjadi 22.90 setelah edukasi. Analisis statistics menggunakan uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan perbedaan bermakna (P < 0.05) pada pengetahuan, sikap, dan tindakan siswa sebelum dan setelah edukasi. Kesimpulan : Edukasi pemilahan sampah efektif meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap, dan tindakan siswa terhadap pemilahan sampah.Saran : Hendaknya pelaksanaan edukasi serupa secara berkelanjutan di sekolah untuk mendukung pembentukan perilaku peduli lingkungan sejak dini.

Background : The waste problem has become increasingly urgent along with population growth and the expansion of residential areas, while the availability of final disposal sites remains limited. The absence of waste segregation leads to accumulation, which contributes to enviromental pollution, the emergence of various diseases, and the risk of flooding caused by clogged drainage channels.Objective : This study aimed to determine the difference in knowladge, attitudes,dan practices og students before and after waste sorting education at Elementary School, Palembang City, In 2025. Research method : This research used a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. A total of 104 fifth-grade students at Elementary School 119 Palembang were selected using total sampling. The intervention was in the form of waste sorting education through audio-visual media, followed by pretest and posttest measurements. Results : The results showed a significant increase in students knowladge from 67,40 to 91.15, attitudes from 23.28 to 32.56, and practices from 12.72 to 22.90 after the education. Statistical analysis using the Wicoxon test showed a significant difference (p<0.05) in knowladge, attitudes, adn practices before and after the education. Conclusion : Waste sorting education effectively improves students knowladge, attitudes, and practices regarding waste sorting. Recommendation : Similar educational programs should be carried out continuosly in school to support the development of environmentally friendly behavior from an aerly age.
