Abstract

ABSTRAK
Latar Belakang: Facial wash gel adalah sabun untuk membersihkan wajah dari sel kulit mati, kotoran, minyak, dan sisa kosmetik. Carbopol 940 berfungsi sebagai agen pengental dalam formula. Penelitian ini bertujuan menemukan formula terbaik dengan carbopol 940 dan menilai stabilitas fisik facial wash gel yang mengandung ekstrak kulit buah semangka (Citrullus lanatus) sebagai antioksidan.

Metode: Penelitian eksperimen menggunakan ekstrak kulit putih semangka yang diformulasikan menjadi facial wash gel dengan variasi carbopol 940: 1% (formula I), 1,3% (formula kontrol dan II), dan 1,6% (formula III). Konsentrasi zat aktif adalah 3%. Gel disimpan pada suhu ruangan selama 28 hari dan diuji stabilitas fisiknya melalui uji percepatan (cycling test) selama 12 hari, meliputi uji pH, tinggi busa, daya sebar, viskositas, syneresis/swelling, homogenitas, perubahan warna, aroma, dan uji iritasi kulit.

Hasil: Semua formula menunjukkan stabilitas fisik yang baik setelah 28 hari penyimpanan dan uji percepatan. Evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa gel memenuhi syarat berdasarkan parameter yang diuji.

Kesimpulan: Ekstrak kulit putih semangka dapat diformulasikan menjadi facial wash gel yang stabil, dengan konsentrasi carbopol optimal sebesar 1,3%.
