Abstract
Latar Belakang : Penularan protozoa pada sapi dapat melalui perantara feses,
dimana feses tersebut dapat di gunakan untuk pupuk sebagai penyubur tanaman
sayur di tambah dengan penggunaan air yang digunakan untuk mempermudah
penyerapan pupuk oleh tanaman. Tanaman yang terkontaminasi protozoa
gastrointestinal dapat menyebabkan infeksi pada manusia. Tujuan Penelitian :
untuk mengetahui gambaran protozoa gastrointestinal pada feses sapi di
peternakan Kecamatan Sukarami Kota Palembang. Metode Penelitian :
Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dengan pendekatan cross-sectional dengan teknik
sampling adalah total sampling dengan sampel berjumlah 38 sapi peliharaan.
Hasil Penelitian : Dari pemeriksaan 38 sapi peliharaan di peternakan Kecamatan
Sukarami Kota Palembang didapatkan hasil 13,2% positif terinfeksi protozoa
gastrointestinal dan 86,8% negatif tidak ditemukan protozoa gastrointestinal.
Berdasarkan jenis kelamin sapi kategori jantan lebih besar terinfeksi protozoa
gastrointestinal sebanyak 13,9% dari pada kategori betina yaitu sebanyak 0,0%,
Berdasarkan umur sapi dengan kategori dewasa lebih besar terinfeksi protozoa
gastrointestinal sebesar 15,2% dari pada kategori anakan yaitu sebanyak 0,0%
dan kategori muda yaitu sebanyak 0,0%. Berdasarkan kebersihan kandang
kategori kandang kotor lebih besar terinfeksi protozoa gastrointestinal yaitu
sebanyak 75,0% daripada kategori kandanng bersih yaitu sebanyak 5,9%.
Background: Transmission of protozoa in cattle can be through the intermediary
of feces, where the feces can be used for fertilizer as a vegetable plant fertilizer in
addition to the use of water used to facilitate the absorption of fertilizer by plants.
Plants contaminated with gastrointestinal protozoa can cause infection in humans.
Research Objective: to determine the description of gastrointestinal protozoa in
cow feces at the farm Sukarami District Palembang City. Research Method: This
research is descriptive with a cross-sectional approach with the sampling
technique is total sampling with a sample of 38 domesticated cows. Research
Results: From the examination of 38 domesticated cows in the farm of Sukarami
Subdistrict, Palembang City, it was found that 13.2% were positively infected
with gastrointestinal protozoa and 86.8% were negative with no gastrointestinal
protozoa found. Based on the sex of the cattle, the male category was more
infected with gastrointestinal protozoa by 13.9% than the female category which
was 0.0%, based on the age of the cattle, the adult category was more infected
with gastrointestinal protozoa by 15.2% than the puppy category which was 0.0%
and the young category which was 0.0%. Based on cage cleanliness, the dirty cage
category was more infected with gastrointestinal protozoa at 75.0% than the clean
cage category at 5.9%.
