Abstract
Latar Belakang: Speech delay atau keterlambatan bicara merupakan salah satu
bentuk gangguan perkembangan anak yang dapat memengaruhi kemampuan
berkomunikasi dan berdampak pada aspek sosial, emosional, dan akademik anak.
Peran orang tua sangat penting dalam memberikan stimulasi perkembangan bahasa
anak, salah satunya melalui media buku cerita bergambar.
Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan perawatan perkembangan
oleh orang tua terhadap anak dengan gangguan perkembangan bahasa
menggunakan media buku cerita di wilayah kerja UPTD Puskesmas Tanjung
Agung.
Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi kasus deskriptif analitik dengan
pendekatan asuhan keperawatan. Subjek penelitian adalah dua orang tua yang
memiliki anak usia 4–6 tahun dengan gangguan perkembangan bicara (Speech
Delay). Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi menggunakan format
KPSP dan SLKI, serta implementasi intervensi selama 8 kali kunjungan.
Hasil: Hasil pengkajian awal menunjukkan bahwa kedua anak mengalami
keterlambatan bahasa pada 7 dari 10 indikator perkembangan. Setelah dilakukan
intervensi berupa pembacaan buku cerita bergambar secara rutin, komunikasi
antara orang tua dan anak meningkat, dan anak menunjukkan perbaikan dalam
kemampuan menyebutkan kata dan berinteraksi verbal.
Kesimpulan: Media buku cerita terbukti efektif sebagai metode stimulasi
perkembangan bahasa pada anak dengan speech delay, khususnya bila dilakukan
secara konsisten oleh orang tua. Intervensi ini juga mendorong peningkatan
interaksi orang tua-anak yang esensial dalam proses tumbuh kembang anak.
Background: Speech delay is one of the most common types of developmental
disorders in children, which can significantly impact their ability to communicate
and affect their social, emotional, and academic development. Parental involvement
plays a crucial role in providing appropriate language stimulation for children, one
of which can be done through illustrated storybook media.
Objective: This study aimed to describe the developmental care provided by
parents to children with speech delay using storybook media in the working area of
UPTD Puskesmas Tanjung Agung.
Methods: This research employed a descriptive-analytic case study design using a
nursing care approach. The subjects were two parents of children aged 4–6 years
diagnosed with speech delay. Data were collected through interviews, observations
using the KPSP and SLKI formats, and the implementation of interventions over
eight structured visits.
Results: Initial assessments showed that both children experienced delays in 7 out
of 10 language development indicators. After routine interventions involving the
reading of illustrated storybooks, communication between parents and children
improved, and the children showed notable progress in word articulation and verbal
interaction.
Conclusion: Storybook media has proven effective as a language development
stimulation method for children with speech delay, especially when consistently
implemented by parents. This intervention also enhanced the quality of parent-child
interactions, which is essential for the child's overall development.
