Abstract

Latar Belakang : Pediculosis capitis adalah penyakit kulit kepala akibat infeksi
tungau atau lice spesies Pediculus humanus var. capitis. Keluhan utama yang
ditimbulkan oleh Pediculosis capitis berupa rasa gatal yang hebat, terutama pada
daerah oksiput dan temporal serta dapat meluas ke seluruh kepala. Tujuan
Penelitian: Untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Air Perasan Daun Sirih Merah terhadap
Kematian Kutu Rambut (Pediculus humanus capitis). Metode Penelitian:
Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental dengan objek peneltian yang di teliti adalah
Pediculus humanus capitis setelah di semprotkan air perasan daun sirih merah
dengan pengulangan perlakuan 5 kali. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah

purposive sampling. Analisis data mengunkan uji Anova. Hasil Penelitian: rata-
rata waktu kematian kutu rambut (Pediculus humanus capitis) pada konsentrasi

20% = 27.41 menit; konsentrasi 40% = 20.01 menit; konsentrasi 60% = 17.29
menit; konsentrasi 80% = 11.26 menit dan pada konsentrasi 100 % = 9.14 menit.
Hail uji Anova didapatkan P= 0,000 < a (0.05). Kesimpulan: Ada pengaruh air
perasan daun sirih merah terhadap kutu rambut (Pediculus humanus capitis),
dimana semakin tinggi konsentrasi air perasan daun sirih merah maka semakin
efektif sebagai insektisida terhadap Pediculus humanus capitis. Saran: Bagi
masyarakat dianjurkan untuk menggunakan bahan alami yaitu Air perasan daun
sirih merah sebagai alternatif dalam membasmi Pediculus humanus capitis.

Background: Pediculosis capitis is a scalp disease caused by infestation of mites
or lice of the species Pediculus humanus var. capitis. The main complaint caused
by Pediculosis capitis is intense itching, especially in the occipital and temporal
areas, which may spread to the entire head. Objective: To determine the effect of
red betel leaf juice on the mortality of head lice (Pediculus humanus capitis).
Methods: This research is experimental in nature, with the research object being
Pediculus humanus capitis after being sprayed with red betel leaf juice, with five
repetitions of treatment. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling.
Data were analyzed using the anova test. Results: The average mortality time of head
lice (Pediculus humanus capitis) at different concentrations was as follows: at 20%
concentration = 27.41 minutes; at 40% = 20.01 minutes; at 60% = 17.29 minutes; at 80%
= 11.26 minutes; and at 100% concentration = 9.14 minutes. The result of the ANOVA test
showed a P-value = 0.000, which is less than α (0.05). Conclusion: There is an effect of
red betel leaf extract (Piper crocatum) on head lice (Pediculus humanus capitis),
where increasing the concentration of the extract results in greater effectiveness as
an insecticide against Pediculus humanus capitis. Suggestion: The public is advised
to use natural ingredients such as red betel leaf juice as an alternative in
eradicating Pediculus humanus capitis.
