Abstract

Latar belakang: Epidemi tembakau masih menjadi isu kesehatan masyarakat yang
penting di Indonesia, terutama mengingat tingginya prevalensi perokok aktif yang
berisiko menyebabkan banyak individu non-perokok terpapar secara pasif. Asap
rokok mengandung ribuan zat berbahaya yang dapat memicu stres oksidatif dan
inflamasi kronis. Salah satu penanda inflamasi yang dapat diukur adalah c-reactive
protein (CRP), protein yang disintesis oleh hati sebagai respons terhadap
peradangan. Tujuan Penelitian: Diketahuinya hubungan tingkat paparan asap
rokok dengan c-reactive protein sebagai biomarker inflamasi pada perokok pasif.

Metode penelitian: Penelitian ini bersifat analitik dengan pendekatan cross-
sectional. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret – April tahun 2025. Populasi

studi penelitian ini adalah seluruh perokok pasif di rt 02 dan rt 03/rw 01, kelurahan
pulo kerto, kecamatan gandus. Sampel dengan jumlah 45 responden. Analisis data
menggunakan chi square test. Hasil Penelitian: Pada kelompok dengan paparan
asap rokok ringan hingga sedang, 2 responden (4,8%) menunjukkan hasil CRP
reaktif dan 40 responden (95,2%) non-reaktif. Sementara itu, pada kelompok
paparan berat, 1 dari 3 responden (33,3%) menunjukkan hasil CRP reaktif dan 2
responden (66,7%) non-reaktif. Berdasarkan uji chi square didapatkan p = 0,191 (p
> 0,05). Kesimpulan: tidak ada hubungan yang bermakna antara tingkat paparan
asap rokok dengan c-reactive protein sebagai biomarker inflamasi pada perokok
pasif.

Background: The tobacco epidemic remains a major public health issue in
Indonesia, particularly due to the high prevalence of active smokers, which puts
many non-smokers at risk of passive exposure. Cigarette smoke contains thousands
of harmful substances that can trigger oxidative stress and chronic inflammation.
One measurable marker of inflammation is C-reactive protein (CRP), a protein
synthesized by the liver in response to inflammation. Objective: To determine the
relationship between the level of cigarette smoke exposure and C-reactive protein
as an inflammatory biomarker in passive smokers. Method: This study was
analytical with a cross-sectional approach. It was conducted from March to April
2025. The study population consisted of all passive smokers in RT 02 and RT 03/RW
01, Pulo kerto sub-district, Gandus district. The sample included 45 respondents.
Data were analyzed using the chi-square test. Results: In the group with light to
moderate exposure to cigarette smoke, 2 respondents (4.8%) showed reactive CRP
results, while 40 respondents (95.2%) were non-reactive. Meanwhile, in the group
with heavy exposure, 1 out of 3 respondents (33.3%) showed a reactive CRP result,
and 2 respondents (66.7%) were non-reactive. The chi-square test showed a p-value
of 0.191 (p > 0.05). Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between the
level of cigarette smoke exposure and C-reactive protein as an inflammatory
biomarker in passive smokers.
