ABSTRACT
Background: Anxiety is a psychological problem that is often experienced by primigravida third trimester pregnant women in facing childbirth. Untreated anxiety can negatively impact the health of the mother and fetus. One of the non-pharmacological methods that can be used to reduce anxiety is hypnoprenatal, which is a relaxation technique with the provision of positive suggestions to create calm and comfortable conditions in pregnant women. Research Objective: To determine the effect of hypnoprenatal on the anxiety of primigravida pregnant women in the third trimester in facing childbirth in the working area of the Perumnas Health Center in 2026. Research Method: This study uses a pre-experimental design with a one group pre-test post-test design approach. The research sample amounted to 34 primigravida pregnant women in the third trimester who were selected using the total sampling technique. Anxiety levels were measured using the PRAQ-R2 questionnaire before and after hypnoprenatal interventions. The data was analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Study Results: Before being given hypnoprenatal, most respondents experienced severe anxiety as many as 19 people (55.9%) and moderate anxiety as many as 15 people (44.1%). After the intervention, most respondents experienced mild anxiety as many as 23 people (67.6%) and moderate anxiety as many as 11 people (32.4%), without any major anxiety. The results of the Wilcoxon test showed a value of Z = -4.508 with a p-value of < 0.001 (p < 0.05), which means that there is a significant effect of hypnoprenatal on the reduction of anxiety in pregnant women. Conclusion: Hypnoprenatal has a significant effect on reducing the anxiety of primigravida pregnant women in the third trimester in facing childbirth.
