Abstract
Latar Belakang : Daun belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) diketahui mengandung senyawa fenolik dan flavonoid yang berpotensi sebagai antioksidan alami. Kandungan senyawa bioaktif tersebut dapat dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, salah satunya adalah waktu panen. Perbedaan intensitas cahaya dan kondisi fisiologis tanaman pada pagi, siang, dan sore hari dapat memengaruhi aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak daun belimbing wuluh.
Metode : Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif yang bertujuan mengukur aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak daun belimbing wuluh berdasarkan perbedaan waktu panen menggunakan metode DPPH. Daun dipanen pada pagi, siang, dan sore, kemudian diekstraksi dengan metode maserasi menggunakan etanol 70%. Aktivitas antioksidan ditentukan berdasarkan nilai persen peredaman radikal bebas dan nilai IC₅₀ menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis.
Hasil : Simplisia daun belimbing wuluh memiliki kadar air yang memenuhi persyaratan (<10%), sedangkan rendemen ekstrak pada panen pagi, siang, dan sore berturut-turut sebesar 13,6%; 13,0%; dan 13,4%. Hasil uji fitokimia menunjukkan seluruh ekstrak positif mengandung senyawa fenol dan flavonoid. Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan menunjukkan bahwa seluruh ekstrak termasuk kategori antioksidan sangat kuat dengan nilai IC₅₀ masing-masing sebesar 23,29 ppm (pagi), 19,22 ppm (siang), dan 21,36 ppm (sore), sedangkan vitamin C sebagai pembanding memiliki nilai IC₅₀ sebesar 5,09 ppm. Persen peredaman tertinggi pada konsentrasi 10 ppm diperoleh dari ekstrak yang dipanen siang hari sebesar 41,86%
Kesimpulan : Waktu panen memengaruhi aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak etanol daun belimbing wuluh. Ekstrak yang dipanen pada siang hari menghasilkan aktivitas antioksidan paling tinggi, ditunjukkan oleh nilai IC₅₀ paling rendah dan persen peredaman radikal bebas paling tinggi dibandingkan panen pagi dan sore.

Background : Bilimbi (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) leaves contain phenolic and flavonoid compounds that have antioxidant activity. The content of these compounds can be affected by several factors, one of which is harvesting time. Differences in light intensity and the plant's physiological condition in the morning, afternoon, and evening may affect the antioxidant activity of bilimbi leaf extract.
Methods : This study was a descriptive study that aimed to determine the antioxidant activity of bilimbi leaf extract harvested at different times using the DPPH method. The leaves were harvested in the morning, afternoon, and evening, then extracted by maceration using 70% ethanol. Antioxidant activity was measured based on the percentage of free radical scavenging and IC₅₀ values using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer.
Results : The moisture content of the simplicia met the required standard (<10%). The extraction yields of the morning, afternoon, and evening samples were 13.6%, 13.0%, and 13.4%, respectively. Phytochemical screening showed that all extracts contained phenolic and flavonoid compounds. All extracts showed very strong antioxidant activity with IC₅₀ values of 23.29 ppm (morning), 19.22 ppm (afternoon), and 21.36 ppm (evening). The IC₅₀ value of vitamin C was 5.09 ppm. At a concentration of 10 ppm, the extract harvested in the afternoon showed the highest free radical scavenging activity (41.86%).
Conclusion : Harvesting time affected the antioxidant activity of bilimbi leaf ethanolic extract. The extract harvested in the afternoon showed the highest antioxidant activity, as indicated by the lowest IC₅₀ value and the highest free radical scavenging activity compared with the morning and evening harvests.
