Abstract

ABSTRAK

Latar Belakang : Daun Matoa (Pometia pinnata) dan Jamur Merang (Volvariella volvaceae) merupakan sumber bahan alam yang mengandung flavonoid yang berpotensi sebagai antioksidan. Aktivitas antioksidan senyawa tersebut berperan dalam menangkal radikal bebas. Peneitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi daya antioksidan ekstrak daun matoa dan jamur merang baik secara tunggal maupun kombinasi dengan metode DPPH.

Metode : Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental. Simplisia daun matoa dan jamur merang diekstraksi dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol. Ekstrak tunggal, kombinasi (1:1, 1:2, 2:1) dan kuersetin sebagai pembanding dibuat dalam konsentrasi 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12,5, 25, dan 50 ppm. Daya antioksidan diuji menggunakan metode dpph dan dinyatakan dalam nilai IC50 sebagai standar untuk menentukan tingkat kekuatan aktivitas antioksidan sampel.

Hasil : Nilai IC50 ekstrak tunggal daun matoa didapatkan sebesar 8,21, ekstrak jamur merang sebesar 9,61 ppm dan ekstrak kombinasi 1:1, 1:2, 2:1 berturut turut sebesar 6,20 ppm, 7,25 ppm, 5,64 ppm. Nilai IC50 baku pembanding kuersetin sebesar 2,41 ppm.

Kesimpulan : Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kombinasi ekstrak daun matoa dan jamur merang menunjukkan daya antioksidan yang lebih baik dibandingkan ekstrak tunggal.

ABSTRACT

Background: Matoa leaves (Pometia pinnata) and straw mushrooms (Volvariella volvacea) are natural sources containing flavonoids with potential antioxidant activity. The antioxidant activity of these compounds plays a role in scavenging free radicals. This study aimed to evaluate the antioxidant capacity of matoa leaf and straw mushroom extracts, both individually and in combination, using the DPPH method.

Methods: This was an experimental study. Matoa leaf and straw mushroom samples were extracted via maceration using ethanol. Individual extracts, combinations (1:1, 1:2, 2:1), and quercetin (as a reference standard) were prepared at concentrations of 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12.5, 25, and 50 ppm. Antioxidant capacity was tested using the DPPH method and expressed as IC50 values to determine the potency of the samples' antioxidant activity.

Results: The IC50 values obtained were 8.21 ppm for the matoa leaf extract and 9.61 ppm for the straw mushroom extract. For the combinations, the IC50 values were 6.20 ppm (1:1), 7.25 ppm (1:2), and 5.64 ppm (2:1). The IC50 value for the quercetin reference standard was 2.41 ppm.

Conclusion: Based on the study results, the combination of matoa leaf and straw mushroom extracts demonstrated superior antioxidant capacity compared to the individual extracts.
