Abstract
ABSTRAK
Latar Belakang : Kanker merupakan salah satu penyebab utama kematian di dunia, dengan metode kemoterapi sebagai terapi utama. Meskipun efektif menghambat pertumbuhan sel kanker, kemoterapi sering menimbulkan mual dan muntah yang dapat menganggu kepatuhan pasien. Rimpang kunyit (Curcuma longa L.) mengandung kurkumin beraktivitas antiematik dan protektif terhadap saluran pencernaan. Untuk meningkatkan kemudahan konsumsi, ekstrak rimpang kunyit dikembangkan menjadi sediaan gummy candies dengan variasi madu sebagai bahan pemanis. Variasi madu diharapkan dapat meningkatkan cita rasa, karakteristik organoleptik, dan penerimaan produk.
Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eskperimental dengan ektrak
rimpang kunyit (Curcuma longa L.) sebagai zat aktif dan memvariasikan
konsentrasi madu sebagai bahan pemanis alami dengan konsentrasi 30% pada
formula I, 35% pada formula II, dan 40% pada formula III. Kemudian dilakukan
evaluasi sediaan selama 28 hari penyimpanan meliputi uji pH, keseragaman bobot, kadar air, organoleptis, dan penerimaan rasa.
Hasil : Hasil evaluasi penyimpabab selama 28 hari menunjukkan bahwa sediaan
gummy candies yang meliputi pengujian pH, keseragaman bobot, kadar air, organoleptis, dan uji kualitas rasa telah memenuhi persyartan sediaan gummy
candies yang baik. Ditinjau dari kuaitas rasa dan tektur pada formula II dengan
konsentrasi madu 35% merupakan sediaan yang paling disukai.
Kesimpulan : Ekstrak rimpang kunyit (Curcuma longa L.) dapat diformulasikan
menjadi sediaan gummy candies yang stabil dan memenuhi persyaratan. Formula gummy candies yang paling optimal adalah formula II dengan konsentrasi madu 35%

ABSTRACT
Background : Cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide, with
chemotherapy being one of the primary treatment modalities. Although effective in inhibiting cancer cell growth, chemotherapy frequently causes nausea and vomiting, which may reduce patient adherence to treatment. Turmeric rhizome (Curcuma longa L.) contains curcumin, which has antiemetic activity and protective effects on the gastrointestinal tract. To improve ease of consumption, turmeric rhizome extract was formulated into gummy candies using varying concentrations of honey as a natural sweetener. The addition of honey was expected to enhance the taste, organoleptic characteristics, and overall acceptability of the product.
Methods : This study employed an experimental design using turmeric rhizome
(Curcuma longa L.) extract as the active ingredient, with different concentrations of honey as a natural sweetener: 30% in Formula I, 35% in Formula II, and 40% in Formula III. The gummy candy formulations were evaluated over 28 days of storage for pH, weight uniformity, moisture content, organoleptic properties, and taste acceptability.
Results : The evaluation results after 28 days of storage demonstrated that all
gummy candy formulations met the quality requirements for pH, weight uniformity, moisture content, organoleptic characteristics, and taste acceptability. Based on taste and texture evaluations, Formula II containing 35% honey was the most preferred formulation.
Conclusion: Turmeric rhizome (Curcuma longa L.) extract can be successfully
formulated into a stable gummy candy dosage form that meets the required quality standards. Formula II, containing 35% honey, was identified as the optimal formulation.
