Abstract
ABSTRAK
Latar Belakang: Daun pepaya (Carica papaya L.) memiliki potensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai bahan baku obat tradisional. Untuk memastikan mutu ekstrak yang diperoleh, peneliti melakukan pengujian standardisasi mutu ekstrak terhadap parameter spesifik dan non spesifik pada ekstrak etanol daun pepaya (Carica papaya L.) yang berasal dari bentuk simplisia rajang dan simplisia serbuk. Hal ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan ekstrak yang memenuhi persyaratan standar mutu yang telah ditetapkan.
Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan analisis deskriptif untuk membandingkan bentuk simplisia rajang dan simplisia serbuk terhadap standardisasi mutu ekstrak daun pepaya (Carica papaya L.) melalui pengujian parameter spesifik dan non spesifik.
Hasil: Pada pengujian parameter mutu ekstrak simplisia rajang daun pepaya kadar sari larut air 36,18%, kadar sari larut etanol 19,21%, bobot jenis 1,0207 g/mL, kadar air 14,27%, kadar cemaran mikroba 3,67 x 10ˡ/gram, dan cemaran logam Pb 11,93 ppm. Pada ekstrak simplisia serbuk pepaya kadar sari larut air 50,89%, kadar sari larut etanol 31,67%, bobot jenis 1,0162 g/mL, kadar air 9,61%, kadar cemaran mikroba 0/gram, dan cemaran logam Pb 6,91 ppm.
Kesimpulan: Penelitian ini menunjukkan mutu ekstrak simplisia serbuk daun pepaya (Carica papaya L.) lebih baik dibandingkan ekstrak simplisia rajang daun pepaya (Carica papaya L.), meskipun bentuk simplisia hanya berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kadar air ekstrak.

ABSTRACT
Background: Papaya leaves (Carica papaya L.) have the potential to be developed as a raw material for traditional medicines. To ensure the quality of the resulting extract, researchers conduct standardization tests, encompassing evaluations of both specific and non-specific parameters on ethanolic extracts derived from sliced and powdered papaya leaf simplicia. This process aims to produce an extract that meets established quality standards.
Method: This research employed an experimental method with descriptive analysis to compare sliced and powdered simplisia forms regarding the quality standardization of papaya leaf (Carica papaya L.) extract, through the testing of specific and non-specific parameters.
Result: Quality parameter testing for the sliced papaya leaf, water-soluble extractive content 36.18%, ethanol-soluble extractive content 19.21%, specific gravity 1.0207 g/mL, moisture content 14.27%, microbial contamination 3.67 x 10¹/g, and Pb metal contamination 11.93 ppm. For the papaya powder extract, water-soluble extractive content 50.89%, ethanol-soluble extractive content 31.67%, specific gravity 1.0162 g/mL, moisture content 9.61%, microbial contamination 0/g, and Pb metal contamination 6.91 ppm.
Conclusion: This research demonstrates that the quality of the extract derived from powdered papaya leaf (Carica papaya L.) is better than the extract from sliced papaya leaf (Carica papaya L.), although the physical form of the raw material significantly affects only the moisture content of the extract.
