SLOW STROKE BACK MASSAGE PADA PASEIN POST OPERASI KANKER PAYUDARA DENGAN MASALAH NYERI AKUT

Latar Belakang: Kanker payudara merupakan salah satu penyakit tidak menular
dengan angka kejadian yang tinggi dan terus meningkat, serta dapat menimbulkan
berbagai masalah, salah satunya nyeri akut pasca pembedahan. Nyeri yang tidak
teratasi dapat berdampak pada gangguan mobilisasi, proses penyembuhan, dan
kualitas hidup pasien. Salah satu intervensi nonfarmakologis yang dapat digunakan
adalah Slow Stroke Back Massage (SSBM) dengan lavender oil yang memberikan
efek relaksasi dan menurunkan intensitas nyeri. Metode: Penelitian ini
menggunakan desain deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus pada 2 pasien post
operasi kanker payudara dengan masalah keperawatan nyeri akut. Pengumpulan
data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi selama proses
asuhan keperawatan di ruang rawat inap RS Muhammadiyah Palembang. Hasil:
Setelah dilakukan implementasi keperawatan berupa terapi Slow Stroke Back
Massage dengan lavender oil selama 3 hari, terjadi penurunan skala nyeri pada
kedua pasien dari kategori nyeri sedang menjadi ringan, disertai peningkatan
kenyamanan dan relaksasi. Kesimpulan: Implementasi keperawatan Slow Stroke
Back Massage dengan lavender oil efektif sebagai terapi nonfarmakologis dalam
menurunkan nyeri akut pada pasien post operasi kanker payudara, sehingga dapat
dijadikan alternatif intervensi dalam praktik keperawatan untuk meningkatkan
kualitas hidup pasien.

Background: Breast cancer is one of the non-communicable diseases with a high
and increasing incidence, and it can cause various problems, one of which is acute
pain after surgery. Unresolved pain can affect mobility, the healing process, and the
patient’s quality of life. One of the non-pharmacological interventions that can be
used is Slow Stroke Back Massage (SSBM) with lavender oil which provides a
relaxation effect and reduces pain intensity. Method: This study used a descriptive
design with a case study approach on 2 post-operative breast cancer patients with
nursing problems of acute pain. Data collection was carried out through
observation, interviews, and documentation during the nursing care process in the
inpatient ward of Muhammadiyah Hospital Palembang. Results: After the
implementation of nursing care in the form of Slow Stroke Back Massage therapy
with lavender oil for 3 days, there was a decrease in pain scale in both patients from
moderate pain to mild pain, accompanied by increased comfort and relaxation.
Conclusion: The implementation of Slow Stroke Back Massage with lavender oil
is effective as a non-pharmacological therapy in reducing acute pain in post-
operative breast cancer patients, so it can be used as an alternative intervention in
nursing practice to improve patients’ quality of life.
