PENGARUH VIDEO ANIMASI TENTANG PEMBERIAN ASI EKSKLUSIF TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN IBU HAMIL DI DESAMENGULAK KABUPATEN OKU TIMUR

ABSTRACT
Background: Exclusive breastfeeding coverage in OKU Timur Regency (58%–65%) remains below the national target of 80% due to limited access to information and lack of maternal knowledge regarding lactation management. Conventional educational methods are considered less effective, necessitating interactive health promotion media innovations, such as audio-visual animation videos, to effectively facilitate optimal information retention among pregnant women.Objective: This study aims to analyze the effect of health education using animation video media on improving pregnant women's knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding in Mengulak Village, OKU Timur Regency.Methods: This quantitative research utilized a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 33 pregnant women selected through the total sampling technique. Data were collected using structured knowledge questionnaires before and after the intervention, then thoroughly analyzed using univariate and bivariate methods via the non-parametric Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. This study references 26 literature sources.Results: Pretest results showed that the majority of respondents had sufficient knowledge (60.6%). Post-intervention (posttest), their knowledge increased significantly, dominated by the good category (81.8%). Based on the statistical Wilcoxon test, all 33 respondents experienced increased knowledge scores with a calculated Z-score of -5.570 and a significance level of p-value = 0.000 (p < 0.05).Conclusion: There is a significant effect of using animation videos on increasing pregnant women's knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding. Health workers are highly encouraged to optimize the utilization of animation videos as a regular lactation educational tool.
