Abstract
ABSTRACT
Anxiety facing childbirth in third-trimester pregnant women risks increasing stress hormones that can inhibit uterine contractions and prolong the duration of the labor process. Self-hypnosis is a complementary non-pharmacological method effective for reprogramming the subconscious mind through positive affirmations to reduce maternal anxiety. This study aims to analyze the influence of self-hypnosis intervention on the anxiety levels of pregnant women facing childbirth at UPTD Rasuan Health Center in 2026. This study used a Quasi-Experimental design with a one-group pretest and posttest approach. The research sample consisted of 22 third-trimester pregnant women selected using the accidental sampling technique. Anxiety levels were measured using the standardized Pregnancy-Related Anxiety Questionnaire-Revised (PRAQ-R) instrument. The self-hypnosis intervention was carried out independently by the respondents at their homes for 7 consecutive days before bedtime. The analysis showed that before the intervention (pretest), all respondents experienced anxiety, with 54.5% classified as mild and 45.5% as moderate, with an average anxiety score of 21.86. After the intervention (posttest), mild anxiety increased to 81.8% and moderate anxiety decreased to 18.2%, with an average score of 18.36. The statistical results of the Paired Samples T-Test yielded a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). In conclusion, there is a significant influence of self-hypnosis intervention on reducing the anxiety levels of pregnant women facing childbirth at UPTD Rasuan Health Center in 2026. Healthcare professionals are expected to integrate this complementary relaxation exercise into the Class for Pregnant Women as a safe self-management option for pregnant women.
