ABSTRAK
Latar Belakang: Strategi koping merupakan upaya yang dilakukan individu untuk mengatasi tekanan psikologis akibat masalah yang dihadapi, termasuk pada orang dengan HIV (ODHIV). Diagnosis HIV sering menimbulkan berbagai respons
emosional seperti shock, sedih, takut, cemas, hingga perasaan tidak percaya diri akibat stigma sosial yang masih melekat di masyarakat. Oleh karena itu, ODHIV memerlukan strategi koping yang tepat untuk membantu proses penerimaan diri dan mempertahankan kualitas hidup.Tujuan Penelitian: untuk untuk menggali pengalaman hidup ODHIV terkait reaksi awal saat mengetahui status HIV dan bentuk-bentuk strategi koping yang digunakan oleh ODHIV. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi deskriptif melalui wawancara mendalam (in-depth-interview).Informan terdiri dari 5 orang informan: 4 informan utama dan 1 informan pendukung (Dokter Poli VCT).
Analisis data yang digunakan adalah model analisis interaktif Miles&Huberman.Hasil Penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa reaksi emosional awal di diagnosis HIV ditandai dengan respon seperti rasa syok, sedih,takut, drop, penolakan, hingga menerima kondisi.Strategi Koping yang digunakan para ODHIV ada dua bentuk strategi utama yaitu 1. Problem-Focused Coping terdiri dari Seecking Social Support dan Plaful Problem Sloving; 2.Emotion-Focused Coping terdiri dari Koping Spiritual, Escape Avoidance, dan Accepting Responsibility.Kesimpulan: Reaksi awal yang dirasakan ODHIV bervariasi tetapi seiring berjalan waktu berhasil mengembangkan strategi koping yang adaptif.Saran: Diharapkan UPTD Puskesmas Gumawang dapat meningkatkan layanan konseling dan dukungan psikososial bagi ODHIV untuk memperkuat
strategi koping adaptif dan meningkatkan kualitas hidup ODHIV.

ABSTRACT
Background: Coping strategies are efforts made by individuals to overcome
psychological distress due to problems faced, including in people with HIV (ODHIV). HIV diagnosis often causes various emotional responses such as shock, sadness, fear, anxiety, and feelings of insecurity due to social stigma that is still inherent in society. Therefore, ODHIV requires the right coping strategy to help the process of self-acceptance and maintain quality of life.Research Objective: to explore the life experience of ODHIV related to the initial reaction when knowing HIV status and the forms of coping strategies used by ODHIV. The research method used is qualitative research with a descriptive phenomenological approach
through in-depth interviews. The informant consists of 5 informants: 4 main informants and 1 supporting informant (Doctor Poli VCT). The data analysis used is the Miles&Huberman interactive analysis model.The results of this study show that the initial emotional reaction in HIV diagnosis is characterized by responses such as shock, sadness, fear, drop, rejection, and acceptance of the condition. The Coping Strategy used by ODHIV has two main forms of strategy, namely 1. Problem-Focused Coping consists of Seecking Social Support and Plaful Problem
Sloving; 2. Emotion-Focused Coping consists of Spiritual Coping, Escape Avoidance, and Accepting Responsibility.Conclusion: The initial reactions felt by
ODHIV varied but over time managed to develop adaptive coping strategies.Suggestion: it is hoped that the Gumawang Health Center UPTD can improve counseling services and psychosocial support for ODHIV to strengthen adaptive coping strategies and improve the quality of life of ODHIV.
